launching BEYOND THE LIGHTS

In September 2000, I launched Captive Culture and started making my fetish photographies. Since this date, I enhanced my skills and worked hard to propose better images and good ropeworks. However, year after year, everything became more complicated : you can’t imagine how photo studio sessions require time and energy. I became more and more obsessed by small details, color usage or good framing. It helped a lot to change my amateur stuff to quality pictures but, I know, lot of people prefer the other way. That’s true, sometimes, it’s very pleasant to watch unperfect pictures : I also love those images featuring a nice action and giving me nice thougts about the situation. And that’s exactly the reason why I decided after careful consideration to use my camera for others things than photo studio shots. Tomorrow, on April 15 update, another area will appear in the captive culture member’s area. Another category called BEYOND THE LIGHTS : this new feature will collect pictures taken in different ways … no more studio lights : I use ambiant light plus one flash on my camera if necessary. It means we can move and shoot everywhere. For example, for the first set which will be published tomorrow, I started to play with Mina in the living-room and we moved to the bathroom before to come back in the initial room. That’s something impossible to make with studio lights … and that’s something I wanted to bring back on my website. I tested the process recently and it works perfectly : indeed, even if I want to shoot home made action, I didn’t want to publish bad pictures. In the BEYOND THE LIGHTS category, members will get images in 1000×1500 resolution, live shots without any preparation, some captures about games I play sometimes with my models outside the studio lights, when we don’t work. Of course, you will continue to get my regular production, nothing changes for the series made in the photo studio : I just add another category and don’t change what Captive Culture is. I consider that thing like another step, the right way to show more spontaneous shots but also a space of freedom for my creativity. Since I thought about BEYOND THE LIGHTS, I got several ideas I can’t shoot for the regular production because of logistic constraints … To conclude, all this sounds really interesting to me and I hope you will love those new images proposed in monochrome and colors modes.
